JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help secure the future operation of water and sewage in Gothenburg? Are you engaged and driven and want to be part of our journey to become Sweden's best water and sewage administration? Do you enjoy variation in your work, collaborating, and being involved in both planned and event-driven problems? Then the position of operations engineer in the Pipeline Network is for you! We own and operate our own facilities, and no one does this better than we do. Today, we are about 160 people divided into eight units.

The responsibility for sewage operations is shared by two units that work closely together. Together, they are responsible for the operational management and maintenance of the sewage pipe network and associated facilities within the city of Gothenburg.

Description of the Unit

The main responsibility and tasks of the sewage pump pipeline unit are preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps/pump stations and sewage facilities to ensure safe operation of the system. We currently consist of a team of 15 wonderful colleagues who share the various tasks that the position entails.

As an operations engineer with us, you will work on various projects and investigations as well as continuous improvements within the department. You will be responsible for the department's documentation system and, together with the unit manager, establish control documents and routines while supporting operations in their daily work. In collaboration with our maintenance engineer, you will work on improvements and development of the maintenance of our pump stations and follow up on key figures and operational results. We work together to develop and optimize our operations.

We are now looking for someone who wants to take on the role of operations engineer, where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and operational management of pump stations and parts of the sewage pipe network.

Description of Job Responsibilities

As an operations engineer with us, you will work with a team of driven colleagues and primarily focus on providing operational and administrative support to the unit manager and field staff regarding daily operations, administration, planning, follow-up, evaluation, contacts, etc.

Ongoing follow-up of the unit's operations regarding technical key figures such as sewage stoppages, emergency diversion from wastewater pump stations. Conduct and be responsible for deviation reporting, including contacts with the supervisory authority. You should be able to develop and create new routines (e.g., work routines and operational instructions) that may involve a new way of working.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed a multi-year technical college or university education with a focus on the water and sewage area, e.g., Road and Water Construction, where knowledge in the water and sewage area is highly valued. You may also have acquired equivalent knowledge through relevant work experience.

Additionally, you have:

• A valid driver's license (B)
• Computer skills are required as we work with a digital operation and maintenance system as well as a digital pipeline map.
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in the water and sewage sector and/or systematic maintenance, as well as experience in an operational environment and in public administrations
• Education in water and sewage
• Worked with the water and sewage bank
• Experience in ongoing maintenance of water and sewage

To succeed in this role, you are structured and ensure that you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively, focusing on completing tasks on time and following up on results. You work independently, make your own decisions within your assignment, and drive the work forward without relying on others' support. Your analytical ability allows you to quickly identify the core of a problem, see connections, and propose well-thought-out solutions. At the same time, you have a strong overall perspective and understand how your work affects and is affected by the organization as a whole. By incorporating different perspectives, you can adapt and further develop ideas to create value. You are goal- and result-oriented, motivated by clear goals, and translate them into concrete actions. When circumstances change, you have the ability to quickly reprioritize to achieve the best possible results.

The position is security-classified and requires a successful security clearance. A valid driver's license (B) is also a requirement for the position.
